This soundtrack and movie makes me miss choir more than I care to admit.

A Sweeney Todd themed set. Loosely based on Mrs. Lovett played by Helena Bonham Carter in the Tim Burton movie from last fall. I love the movie. I've been listening to the soundtrack off and on all day, it inspired me.

La Sinistre Carnaval: In-House Vamp

Athena owns the Sinister Carnival. It started out as a small burlesque show in France when burlesque was just starting out. A lot has changed in the last hundred years or so. The carnival originally went by the name of La Sinistre Carnaval, but was later changed when Athena decided to take on the colonies.
She is quite fond of a few things in the modern age. "Goth" clothing for instance, couture clothing, hair bleach and readily available diamonds. She started collecting knives about a century ... before starting her burlesque show. True, she doesn't need them as she is a vampire, but she claims, "They're just so fun!"
She still keeps photographs from her travels over the past few centuries. She can hardly remember who any of the people are in the photos. Sometimes this makes her feel very alone, other times it just makes her giggle and go on a shopping spree.

I love this one.

Sinister Carnival: The Clown

No one has been able to tie The Clown to any of the sinister events that happen behind the curtains of the Sinister Carnival.
No one has even been able to pin down exactly what it is that they suspect The Clown to be involved in.
Everyone can agree on two things however 1) she dresses quite interestingly for a clown and 2) she is undoubtedly creepy.
(Not terribly thrilled with this either...)

Sinister Carnival: Candy Girl

Isabelle runs the cotton candy stand for the Sinister Carnival.
She's fond of wearing dark colors with random pops of bright pink color.
She spends her paychecks on clothing filled with interesting details.
She spends her evenings putting plastic dolls in the microwave.
She also enjoys watching the drops of poison slowly blend in with the candy fluff.
She loves Halloween, that's when the Sinister Carnival carries candy apples she sticks razor blades in them and giggles to herself when people ... get cut on them.

When will people learn not to go to the Sinister Carnival?

Aubriette & Lisielle

Action movie heroines Aubriette and Lisielle take crap from no one. People aren't sure if they're sisters or lovers, but it is obvious they're very close.
Aubriette is older, loves fighting with a knife and playing with her iPhone. She uses her looks to get information out of weak minded men and women, sometimes having to beat them off with a stick... literally.
Lisielle was recently told that her name means 'God is my consecration' since then she's been on an uber Jesus kick. She even convinced Aubriette to wear a cross, which comes in handy when they're fighting demons.
Technically they are actresses that happen to do a lot of action movies, always together. No one is positive that the women realize they are acting though, or that they stop fighting demons and villians when the director yells, "Cut!"

Fall Outfit

Why isn't it fall yet? I want it to be here now! Stupid July... ;)
This set shows off my idea of a perfect fall outfit (one of them anyway).
I don't wear skirts, but I would if I had this one with these super long skirts to wear it with. I couldn't decide between these mary-jane shoes or tall boots. These seem to feel more like the set though.
I really want my long curly hair back (that's not a picture of me, obviously). Long curls are perfect for fall, in my opinion.
I'm happy with this one.

Sinister Carnival: The Mime

No one knows what The Mime's real name is.
No one knows if The Mime is a boy or a girl.
No one knows why people always seem to disappear after catching a private show with The Mime.
No one knows why The Mime spends so much time and money bleaching the white jump rope after the private shows.
One of the staff actually saw The Mime stained with blood, doing cartwheels between the tents one night.
The Mime doesn't know that someone saw that.
Everyone is scared of The Mime, even Elena and no one crosses Elena.

(Mimes sort of creep me the fuck* out! lol I thought it would be interesting to put a murdering mime into the carnival. She/he/it likes to strangle people with the jump rope, it's much quieter than other ways of getting rid of someone. She/he/it loves silence.)

Also, the painting is by Marilyn Manson of Dita von Teese (his ex-wife), some of his work is interesting.

I have a few other ideas for the Sinister Carnival workers, but suggestions are always welcome!

Sinister Carnival: Panther Tamer

Elena is a Panther tamer for the Traveling Sinister Carnival. None of her coworkers remember hiring her, or even how long she's been with the troupe. They all agree that she just sort of showed up one evening for a show, about twenty years ago, began performing and has been part of their group ever since. She hasn't aged a day, under mysterious circumstances.
None of her coworkers appreciated the way that she treats the people that come to their shows, or that she seems to prefer big cats to humans. Her coworkers will never cross her or ask her to leave though, especially not after hearing the stories of what she does to those that cross her.

I'm going to attempt a Sinister Carnival series.

It's been a while

It's been a while since I've created six sets in one day, but I've been on a roll today. I'm quite happy with the incredibly random things I've come up with as well.

(Okay, this was from 2 days ago...)
Set made of only Galliano & Dior pieces.

The Carnival has long since left these grounds. Skyscrapers and suburbs now cover the land that used to smell of elephants, cotton candy and peanuts. She still hasn't left this place. She still walks the streets treating the land like her own personal carnival. She will never leave.
The glitter goes all over her flesh, the brooch is attached to whatever piece of fabric she wishes to put it on at the time. I love these shoes and knew I had to use them with a ghost because they look like they're dripping and perfect for that.

I really wanted to do a monochrome white set. So here it is!

Revisiting the all white theme that I just tackled.
Her name is Estelle and she is engaged to the strong man and wears a LOT of white to accentuate her skin tone. She may not be albino, but she is extremely pale and as long as she performs her bosses don't care what she is.
The feathers clip in her hair, her skirts are layered and she has an immaculate white manicure (because if it wasn't immaculate it would look as if she painted her nails with white out). She loves lace, fishnets, diamonds and feathers. Her best friend is an albino peacock named Lumiere that performs with her.

Death from Sandman
I just read Volume 1 for the first time. I have no idea why it too me so long to get around to reading this. LOVE IT.
A decent representation of Death's outfit. I added the Mary Poppins mug just as an added quirk. Because if Death had an apartment, she would totally drink out of this mug.

A modern twist on the classic.
She is dressed head to toe in yellow with white touches (shoes and gloves). Belle would, of course, be wearing Chanel No 5. The beast would be wearing brown skater shows, wrinkled jeans, wrinkled shirt and a blazer Belle bought for him ages ago that he only wears when she is around. He would, obviously, bring a Nintendo DS with him to wherever they're going to keep himself entertained while she's in the restroom. He is also carrying all of Belle's essentials in his pockets (boy are they heavy!) so that she doesn't have to carry a purse. She sewed a special pocket into his blazer for him to carry her books as well. She's currently reading Twilight, because of course she would love it.

A female version of The Joker. The switchblade goes in one of her pockets, the monopoly money, joker card and rocks go in her purse, for hitting people, leaving her calling card and paying for things with fake money.
This isn't the best rendition possible, but I'm pretty happy with it. Love the wig.

Catwoman would absolutely carry a Blackberry. How ELSE would she discreetly take pictures of all the lovely jewels she wants to grab after hours?
Also, all of her clothing would be vegan appropriate, as she would be an even larger spokesperson for Peta than Pamela Anderson.
Personally, I love her outfit and her cute little cat hair clips are adorable.
Fingerless gloves and a black uniform are musts for any cat burglar.
(I can't WAIT until they have Catwoman in the new Batman movies, can you ... tell?)

Collette the Slytherin Girl

Collette is a true Slytherin girl. (Her family can be traced back to Salazar himself!) After that nonsense with Harry Potter and him murdering Lord V she and her family decided to attempt life among the... -gag- muggles for a while.

Collette is a big fan of their jewelry, clothing and shoes. Plus, this Machiavelli chap sounds quite charming. But, please, stop suggesting that she read Mein Kampf! That guy was a loony and rather tacky.

The Little Mermaid

My interpretation of The Little Mermaid's outfit if she were real today.
Billabong bag, it seems very mismatched and pieced together from odds and ends to me. Which I think suits Ariel quite nicely.
The shell necklace is similar to the one Ursula wore, I like to think she came to terms with that experience and wears it as a reminder and a joke. Same goes for the fork shaped hair pin.
The purple bracelet is Disney Couture and goes with the mismatched theme again. I don't think she would ever give ... up her love of gathering odds and ends.
The green dress seems light, airy and easy to remove for a spontaneous swim in the sea. Same with the flat sandals.
